Cookie policy.

Last updated · May 2026

Summary

We use only the few strictly necessary cookies needed to run preshift.co.uk. Our website analytics are cookieless — they store nothing on your device — so we do not set any analytics or advertising cookies, and there is no cookie banner to click through. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels, no third-party advertising beacons.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the site remember things between page loads, such as that you have unlocked a password-gated product page, and they help keep our forms secure.

This policy explains every cookie we set, why we set it, and how long it lasts. It is written to satisfy the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR. The wider Privacy Policy at /privacy explains what we do with the data we collect.

2. The cookies we use

We only set strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the site and its features to work, do not need consent under PECR, and do not store any advertising or cross-site tracking identifiers.

• stack_unlock, kept for thirty days when set, remembers that you have entered the password on a gated product page (relevant only if you have been given that password). • Cloudflare Turnstile cookies (such as __cf_bm), set by Cloudflare when you interact with a form, are used to tell humans from bots and protect our forms from abuse. They are short-lived and contain no advertising data. • Next.js preview cookies are set only for our own content editors when they preview unpublished drafts. Ordinary visitors never receive them.

That is the full list. We do not use any other cookies.

3. Analytics without cookies

We do want to understand how the site is used so we can improve it, but we do so without cookies. Our analytics provider (PostHog, hosted in the EU) is configured in cookieless mode: it keeps a temporary identifier in your browser's memory for the current page session only and writes nothing to cookies or local storage. Nothing is stored on or read back from your device.

Because no information is stored on your device, this analytics does not require a cookie banner under PECR. We rely on legitimate interests for this limited, privacy-preserving measurement, as explained in our Privacy Policy at /privacy.

4. Cookies we do not use

For the avoidance of doubt:

• We do not use advertising cookies. No Google Ads cookies, no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no TikTok pixel. • We do not use Google Analytics or any other cookie-based analytics. • We do not use cross-site tracking pixels. • We do not sell, share, or syndicate any cookie-derived data to third parties for marketing. • We do not use cookies on our product applications beyond what is strictly necessary for the application to function.

5. How to control cookies

Because we set only strictly necessary cookies and our analytics are cookieless, there is nothing non-essential to switch off, which is why you will not see a cookie consent banner on the site.

You can still block or delete cookies directly through your browser. Each browser handles this slightly differently:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data. • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.

If you block strictly necessary cookies the site may not work as expected.

The Information Commissioner's Office publishes useful general guidance on cookies at ico.org.uk.

6. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when we change the cookies we use. The most recent version is always at preshift.co.uk/cookies with the date at the top of the page. Material changes are notified on the site for a reasonable period.

7. Contact
